The vast majority of Portuguese schools posted final ninth-grade exam results by mid-morning Monday, ending a delay that pushed back the release from Friday. Schools received grades on Sunday and were required to display them by 09:30 on 20 July. Filinto Lima, head of the National Association of Public School Directors, said only two or three school heads had not yet received the files by Monday morning.
Authorities postponed the original 17 July release to prioritise processing secondary-school national exams used for university admissions. More than 1,400 secondary exams were flagged as suspended due to digitisation errors, adding pressure to the grading pipeline.
The ninth-grade tests in Portuguese and Mathematics were administered digitally for the first time in June. A second phase opens Tuesday with the Portuguese exam.
