A bank employee was killed in a knife attack during a robbery at a branch in Regensburg, Bavaria, on Thursday afternoon. The victim died in hospital after sustaining severe injuries in the incident, which began around 14:50 local time.
Police arrested a 20-year-old German man without resistance at approximately 18:00. Special forces evacuated two people from the building following the assault. Investigators believe the suspect acted alone and are probing the case as a homicide and armed robbery. The suspect is due to appear before a judge on Friday.
Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann expressed condolences to the victim's family.
