Sigrid Ytterhus Haugset became the first Norwegian rider to win a Tour de France Femmes stage and take the yellow jersey, soloing to victory on Monday's 156.5-kilometre third stage from Geneva to Poligny. The Uno-X rider launched her attack on the Côte de la Savine, the third of four climbs, and rode roughly 88 kilometres alone at the front of the race.
Haugset finished 1 minute 24 seconds clear of Lotte Kopecky of SD Worx, who chased hard but could not close the gap. The main peloton arrived nearly three minutes down. The result saw Haugset seize the overall lead from Lorena Wiebes, while Paula Blasi retained the white jersey as best young rider.
The Tour de France Femmes concludes on 9 August with a stage starting and finishing in Nice.
