A minor has been detained over the fatal stabbing of 19-year-old Simone Concas in Bari Sardo, Sardinia, on 22 July, after a dispute at a local sports field escalated into a deadly confrontation. The detained youth is expected to be transferred to a juvenile facility in Quartucciu. A second suspect — the minor's older brother — remains at large and is being sought by authorities.
The altercation reportedly erupted after Concas deliberately struck his former girlfriend, 21-year-old Erika Prunas, with his car. Prunas was hospitalised at Brotzu hospital in Cagliari with serious injuries to both legs. The suspects in the stabbing are the victim's ex-girlfriend's underage brother and her current boyfriend, Dennis Loi.
Conflicting accounts of the incident have emerged. One version holds that the attacker drove the car that struck both Concas and Prunas before the stabbing, while another suggests Concas was behind the wheel when the girl was hit, triggering the brawl.
