A 41-year-old Italian man with a criminal record was found dead on Friday in an apartment in Corsico, a town in the Milan metropolitan area, after neighbours raised the alarm over a strong odour coming from the residence on Via Parini, Adnkronos reported.
The body bore multiple stab wounds to the abdomen, indicating a violent death. The Carabinieri have opened a murder investigation and are working to establish the circumstances and identify any suspects.
No arrests have been announced. Authorities have not released further details about a possible motive or the weapon used in the killing.
