Military aid to Ukraine hits highest level since April 2024 as EU loan lifts June total

Military aid to Ukraine reached 7.2 billion euros in June, the highest monthly total since April 2024 and the third-largest monthly increase since Russia's invasion in February 2022.

The European Union approved a 90-billion-euro loan for the 2026–2027 period, helping drive EU-institution military commitments to 4.3 billion euros across May and June. Germany allocated 700 million euros, Denmark 600 million, and the Netherlands 500 million to support Ukrainian forces.

The June surge follows a broader decline in donor contributions. Before U.S. funding lapsed in February 2025, donors committed an average of 3.46 billion euros per month in military aid; that average has since fallen to 2.94 billion euros.
