Leaders from at least 25 countries convene in Paris on Monday for a Coalition of the Willing summit focused on bolstering Ukraine's air defences, following a NATO commitment to deliver €70 billion in military assistance to Kyiv in 2026.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to meet French President Emmanuel Macron before joining the broader sessions, which will address licensed production of Patriot missiles inside Ukraine and accelerated deployment of the SAMP-T system. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is also attending the summit, which sees Moldova and North Macedonia participating for the first time.

The talks follow a Russian missile and drone strike on Friday that killed eight people across Ukraine. The European Union is expected to approve its 21st sanctions package against Moscow next week.
