Her white Ford Fiesta was later found abandoned nearby.
Prime suspect John Cannan died in prison in November 2024 at age 70 without ever being charged in connection with Lamplugh's disappearance. Cannan was serving a sentence for the 1987 murder of Shirley Banks. A former detective interviewed Cannan in 1990, during which the suspect briefly implied responsibility. Police hold 178 boxes of evidence, 3,000 case files and 26,000 tip-off entries, while an unmatched fingerprint from the car's rearview mirror remains untraced.
