Irish police have renewed their appeal for information on the 39th anniversary of the disappearance of Antoinette Smith, a 27-year-old mother of two who was murdered after attending a David Bowie concert at Slane Castle, County Meath, in July 1987.
Smith was last seen walking towards O'Connell Street Bridge in Dublin in the early hours of 12 July 1987, after leaving the La Mirage Discotheque. Her remains were discovered nine months later in a drain on Glendoo Mountain, near the Lemass monument in County Wicklow.
Gardaí at Bray Garda Station issued the fresh appeal on Saturday, urging anyone with information about the case to come forward. The circumstances surrounding Smith's movements in the hours before her disappearance and the identity of her killer remain unresolved nearly four decades on.
