Manchester City have completed the signing of Argentina goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli from Marseille for a fee of £1.7 million. The 34-year-old signed a two-year contract that runs until June 2028, marking a return to the club where he previously spent the 2016–17 season without making a first-team appearance.
Rulli arrives with significant international pedigree. He won eight caps for Argentina and was part of the squads that lifted the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the 2024 Copa America. At club level, he helped Villarreal win the 2020–21 Europa League, scoring in the penalty shootout victory over Manchester United.
During his two seasons at Marseille, Rulli made 73 appearances and kept 14 clean sheets. His return to the Etihad adds an experienced backup option as the club bolsters its goalkeeping ranks.
