A 41-year-old man has been re-arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of Paul Mackin Jnr, who was fatally assaulted at a residential property in north Belfast on 20 July.
Mackin Jnr, 44, died in hospital from injuries sustained during the attack at a home on Duncairn Parade, which was reported to the Police Service of Northern Ireland at approximately 18:00. The suspect, who had initially been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, was taken back into custody on suspicion of murder after the victim's death.
Two other men, aged 40 and 32, who were also held on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident, have been released unconditionally. Police are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the assault.
