A man in his 30s is fighting for his life following a late-night assault on Foley Street in Dublin 1. The attack occurred at approximately 11:40 pm on Monday, 6 July 2026.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mater Misericordiae University Hospital around 2:00 am on Tuesday, where he remains in critical condition.
Police have arrested a suspect, also a man in his 30s, who is currently detained at a Dublin garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. An Garda Síochána is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
