Jürgen Klopp is scheduled to be presented as Germany's head coach on July 24 in Frankfurt, after Red Bull agreed to release him from his contract through 2029 without a transfer fee or conditions, following weeks of negotiations that culminated in a secret meeting with Red Bull chief Oliver Mintzlaff in New York on July 18.
DFB president Bernd Neuendorf and vice-president Hans-Joachim Watzke reached a preliminary agreement with Klopp during a July 11 meeting in New York. Klopp is expected to sign a contract running through the 2030 World Cup with an annual salary of around seven million euros, matching his predecessor's pay. A multi-million euro buyout was previously ruled out in favour of creative alternatives such as a future ambassadorial role.
Neither party has confirmed the deal: Red Bull denied reports of an agreement and the DFB declined to comment. Klopp is working as a television pundit for MagentaTV at the World Cup final in East Rutherford on July 19.
