Joshua Tarling will compete in the Vuelta a España starting Saturday, Netcompany Ineos confirmed, just one week after his younger brother Finlay Tarling was killed in a race crash.

Finlay Tarling, 19, died on August 14 during the eighth stage of the Volta a Portugal after a high-speed head-on collision with a van not connected to the event. He rode for the UCI Continental team NSN Development Team and had won bronze in the time trial at the British U23 Championships in June.

Joshua Tarling, a 22-year-old time trial specialist, will join the Vuelta a España lineup as the race runs from Monaco on August 22 through September 13. Geraint Thomas, the team's director of racing, said the team fully supported Joshua's decision to take part.
