Portugal and the Czech Republic are maintaining high-temperature warnings into the weekend, after earlier reporting detailed dangerous heat and wildfire risk across much of Europe.

In Portugal, yellow heat alerts remain in force until 18:00 Friday in four mainland districts — Bragança, Vila Real, Guarda and Castelo Branco — as well as along the north and south coasts of Madeira and on Porto Santo. Maximum temperatures on the mainland range from 25 degrees in Porto and Aveiro to 38 in Bragança, while Funchal reaches around 29 degrees and Porto Santo 28.

In the Czech Republic, high-temperature warnings cover most of the country through Sunday, with an elevated orange-level alert for southern Moravia on Sunday. Maximums are forecast between 31 and 36 degrees on Saturday and up to 37 on Sunday, though expected rain on Monday could ease an elevated wildfire risk that currently spans the entire country.
