Colt Gray was sentenced on Tuesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the September 2024 mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia, after the 16-year-old pleaded guilty to all 55 charges, including murder.
Gray, tried as an adult, admitted to four counts of murder along with dozens of other counts covering aggravated assault and battery stemming from the attack that killed two students and two teachers and wounded nine others. The life sentence without parole closes the case against Gray without a trial.
Gray's father, Colin Gray, was convicted in March of second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter for purchasing the AR-15-style rifle he gave his son as a Christmas gift in 2023, the weapon later used in the school shooting.
