Colt Gray, the 16-year-old accused of killing two teachers and two students in the September 2024 shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia, is scheduled for a non-negotiated plea and sentencing hearing on July 24 in Barrow County Superior Court.
Gray, charged as an adult, faces 55 criminal counts including malice murder, aggravated battery, and aggravated assault. If convicted on all charges, he could receive up to 180 years in prison. Prosecutors allege Gray left behind a notebook containing handwritten instructions and a classroom diagram, estimating he could kill up to 26 people and wound 13 others.
The attack killed teachers Richard Aspinwall, 39, and Cristina Irimie, 53, along with students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14, and wounded eight other students and one teacher. Gray's father, Colin Gray, was convicted of second-degree murder in March for his connection to the shooting.
