Colt Gray, now 16, pleaded guilty on Thursday to all 55 charges, including malice murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery, for the September 2024 mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia. He entered a non-negotiated plea, admitting guilt without a pre-arranged deal, meaning no trial will take place.
The September 4, 2024 attack killed two 14-year-old students, Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, and two teachers, Richard Aspinwall, 39, and Cristina Irimie, 53. Nine others were wounded. Gray was 14 at the time and told the judge he suffered from mental health issues and was taking medication.
Gray's father, Colin Gray, was convicted on 27 counts in March 2025, including second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter, after giving his son the assault-style rifle used in the attack as a Christmas gift.
