The trial of former world snooker champion Graeme Dott has begun at the High Court in Glasgow on charges of historic child sex abuse involving two primary school-aged children.
Dott, 49, is accused of lewd, indecent, and libidinous behaviour towards a girl between 1993 and 1996 and a boy between 2006 and 2010. The alleged incidents occurred on various occasions at addresses in Glasgow's east end and South Lanarkshire, as well as in a car. A female witness, now in her 40s, testified that the first incident took place when she was nine or 10 years old at a Glasgow house.
Dott, who won the 2006 World Snooker Championship and was runner-up in 2004 and 2010, has denied both charges. The trial, presided over by Judge Lord Harrower, is expected to last four or five days.
