Five people were killed in three separate motorcycle collisions across Germany on Saturday, with roads temporarily closed at each site while investigators worked to determine the causes.
In Dasing, Bavaria, a motorcyclist died and a car driver suffered minor injuries in an afternoon crash on the B300 federal highway. The road was shut in both directions while an accident investigator was called in to reconstruct the incident.
Near Dessau in Saxony-Anhalt, a 70-year-old motorcyclist collided with a car driven by a 79-year-old woman on the B184 at midday. The man died at the scene despite resuscitation attempts, and the woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The road was closed for roughly three hours.
In Vettelschoss, Rhineland-Palatinate, a motorcyclist, 38, and his 33-year-old passenger died after colliding with a truck on the K19 county road. The 35-year-old truck driver suffered shock. The road was closed for about four hours while an expert was commissioned to reconstruct the crash.
