Five people were seriously injured and three others sustained minor injuries on Friday when a Czech-registered minibus veered into oncoming traffic on the B20 federal highway near Straubing, Bavaria.
The minibus, carrying three occupants, crossed into the opposite lane near Oberschneiding around 13:20 and collided head-on with an oncoming car driven by a Czech man, before striking a second vehicle driven by a young woman, bringing the total number of vehicles involved to three.
The five seriously injured were airlifted by rescue helicopter to hospitals, while three others suffered light injuries. The B20 was closed for several hours following the crash.
