Three separate motorcycle accidents across southern Germany and Austria left riders severely injured on Thursday, prompting emergency responses and road closures in both countries.
In Hesse, a 61-year-old motorcyclist was severely injured when he lost control in a right-hand curve and overturned on the L3314 in the Main-Kinzig district. He was transported to a hospital, and police are seeking witnesses to the Thursday evening crash. In Bavaria, near Altmannstein, a motorcyclist failed to notice braking traffic and rear-ended a car, throwing both the rider and a passenger from the vehicle. The two severely injured victims were airlifted and driven to surrounding hospitals while firefighters sealed off the scene.
In Austria, a 28-year-old motorcyclist was severely injured in a collision with a car driven by a 41-year-old man entering Hollersbach from Mittersill. The rider was taken to a hospital in Zell am See, and the B165 highway was fully closed during recovery and cleanup operations.
