FIFA announced on Thursday that the winners of the 2026 World Cup will receive personalised championship rings, adopting a tradition long associated with major North American sports leagues.
The governing body confirmed the limited-edition collection will consist of 2,026 individually numbered rings, with 30 awarded to members of the victorious squad and the remaining 1,996 offered for sale to fans globally as official memorabilia. One face of the ring features the World Cup trophy, while the reverse will be customised for the winning team.
The announcement comes three days before the final between Spain and Argentina, which is scheduled for Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
