Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić will officiate Sunday's World Cup final between Spain and Argentina at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It marks the first World Cup final for the 46-year-old, who has already handled four matches at this tournament, including the round-of-32 tie between Mexico and Ecuador.
Vinčić, an international referee since 2010, previously oversaw the 2024 Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. He will be joined by compatriot assistant referees Tomaž Klančnik and Andraž Kovačič, with Jordanian Adham Makhadmeh serving as fourth official.
German referee Bastian Dankert has been appointed as video assistant referee for the final, capping a tournament in which he served in video roles across twelve matches. Fellow German official Felix Zwayer, meanwhile, departed the tournament before the semi-finals after taking charge of just two group-stage matches.
