Lewis Hamilton topped the second practice session for Formula 1's Hungarian Grand Prix on Friday, lapping in 1:18.729 to lead a Ferrari one-two ahead of teammate Charles Leclerc, with McLaren's Lando Norris third.
Leclerc had earlier set the benchmark in the opening session with a 1:19.075, finishing ahead of Max Verstappen and Hamilton. The Italian team's strong showing was tempered by incidents elsewhere: Alpine's Franco Colapinto crashed at the final corner in the second session, while Aston Martin's Lance Stroll stopped on track with a suspension issue.
The weekend follows Kimi Antonelli's victory at the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa, where he finished ahead of Leclerc and Verstappen. McLaren has won the last two Hungarian races with one-two finishes. Sunday's race at the Hungaroring will be the championship's next test.
