Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli leads the Formula 1 standings by 25 points over teammate George Russell heading into the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, positioning himself to become Italy's first world champion since Alberto Ascari in 1953.
Speaking on the eve of the race, the teenager revealed that a recent conversation with tennis great Roger Federer at Wimbledon shaped his approach to the title fight. Federer advised him to focus on one race at a time and keep his emotions in check during the closing stages of the campaign.
Antonelli, now in his second season in the sport, rated his own performance an 8.5 out of 10 for the year so far as he prepares for the Spa weekend.
