A man has been arrested and charged with negligent homicide after his infant child was found lifeless at a home in Bergen, Norway, on Thursday morning.
Police responded at 6:20 a.m. after the father called emergency services to report that his baby was not breathing. Officers and paramedics performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation at the scene, but the child was pronounced dead shortly afterward. Prosecutor Marcus Monsen confirmed the timeline of the call. Police said no external injuries were observed on the infant, and an autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death.
The father remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
