Three Danish swimmers reached the semifinals at the European long course championships in Paris on Thursday evening, but none advanced to the finals. Robert Elliot Falborg Pedersen, who set a Danish record in the 50-metre backstroke heats with a time of 24.55 seconds — improving his own previous mark of 24.66 — swam 24.60 in his semifinal, falling short of a final berth. Helena Rosendahl Bach finished seventh in the 100-metre butterfly semifinal, while Clara Rybak-Andersen placed fifth in the 200-metre breaststroke semifinal in 2 minutes 25.47 seconds.
Falborg Pedersen had posted the seventh-fastest time across all heats to qualify for the semis, while teammate Frederik Riedel Lentz finished 54th overall, more than a second off the pace. The championships conclude on Sunday.
