Danish kayaker Emma Aastrand Jørgensen, a four-time Olympic medalist, has abandoned her ambition to compete in javelin at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and is now training for the Copenhagen Ironman next year.

Aastrand Jørgensen won bronze in the K1 event at the 2024 Paris Games, her fourth Olympic medal, before retiring from kayaking to pursue javelin. She has now shelved that plan entirely and shifted her focus to endurance sport.

Denmark's wheelchair rugby team was eliminated from the World Championship following a 49-57 quarterfinal loss to Australia.
