A Danish court has ordered the pre-trial detention in absentia of a suspect in an aggravated deprivation of liberty case following a closed-door hearing at the Horsens District Court on Friday.
The remand hearing was held behind closed doors with a reporting ban after prosecutors requested double-closed proceedings. The suspect did not appear, and the case involves a primary suspect and a possible accomplice. The 15-year-old girl at the centre of the case was located in Hungary. The hearing, which began at 14:30 local time, concluded shortly before 17:00.
South East Jutland Police are investigating the case. Aggravated deprivation of liberty carries a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison under Danish law.
