Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk in Lublin on Wednesday for their first talks on Polish soil since a diplomatic rift over Kyiv's decision to name a special forces unit after the Ukrainian Insurgent Army, a move that prompted Polish President Karol Nawrocki to revoke an earlier state honour bestowed on Zelensky.
Stopping in Poland on his return from Washington, where he met U.S. President Donald Trump and attended the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham, Zelensky said the two leaders discussed historical dialogue between their nations alongside his diplomatic engagements in the U.S. capital.
Tusk said on X that the talks covered Polish investment in Ukraine, anti-ballistic missile cooperation, and continued support for Kyiv's defence against Russia. Zelensky added that shielding Ukrainian cities from Russian strikes and prioritising missile defence were central to the discussions. Zelensky departed the Lublin provincial office after 18:00.
