Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić arrived in Kyiv on Wednesday for a summit of southeastern European and Ukrainian leaders, his first visit to the Ukrainian capital since Russia's full-scale invasion began.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen also travelled to Kyiv for her eleventh wartime visit to Ukraine, where she is expected to announce new measures to integrate European and Ukrainian defence industries. The European Union has opened a second cluster of accession negotiations with Ukraine, covering foreign policy, as the bloc disburses a €90 billion loan to Kyiv.
The visits come amid continued hostilities, as a Russian strike killed three people in the southern city of Odesa. The EU is also preparing a 21st sanctions package against Russia, due for adoption by Wednesday.
