Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are holding separate meetings with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House today, as U.S.-led diplomatic efforts remain stalled. Zelensky seeks a "dignified peace" not dictated by Moscow, while Netanyahu is expected to discuss the conflict in Iran.
The visits coincide with tribute services for Senator Lindsey Graham, who died earlier this month at age 71. Zelensky is pressing for continued backing against Russia as long-range strikes intensify between Kyiv and Moscow. Trump has largely halted direct U.S. arms deliveries to Kyiv in favor of the PURL program, under which European allies purchase weapons for Ukraine, though Washington continues providing intelligence and Starlink access.
Tensions between Washington and Moscow have cooled since the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska in August 2025. Last week, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio against further arms transfers to Ukraine during a meeting in Manila.
