The half-time break in Sunday's World Cup final at New York New Jersey Stadium will be extended to between 20 and 30 minutes to accommodate a Super Bowl-style musical show, exceeding the 15-minute interval stipulated in the laws of the game.
The 11-minute performance will be co-headlined by Madonna, Shakira and K-pop group BTS, with Justin Bieber added to the bill alongside Burna Boy, Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus featuring Coldplay. FIFA is reportedly planning to amend its regulations to formally accommodate the extended interval. Last year's Club World Cup final in New Jersey also saw a 24-minute half-time due to a similar concert.
A closing ceremony featuring Tom Cruise, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger, Robbie Williams and IShowSpeed precedes the 20:00 BST kick-off, with Jennifer Hudson singing the US national anthem. Spain will face either England or Argentina in the final.
