Ukrainian drone units under commander Robert Brovdi aim to destroy every Wildberries logistics warehouse by September, he said, after strikes since 18 July hit at least 15 facilities and knocked out nearly a fifth of the company's storage capacity. Brovdi alleged the retailer actively supports the war by selling products for Russia's military campaign.
The campaign has inflicted an estimated €3 billion in damage on Wildberries, which handles roughly half of Russia's e-commerce and processed nearly €70 billion in goods last year. The attacks have exposed the company's heavy indebtedness, with short-term liabilities jumping from €1.1 billion to €8.6 billion in a year and total debt potentially exceeding €14 billion, around €5 billion owed to state lender VTB. VTB shares fell on the Moscow exchange after the first strike.
A drone ignited a warehouse fire in the Tula region, while strikes also reached Kazan in Tatarstan. Up to 400,000 Russians sell goods on the platform.
