Italian prosecutors have detained two brothers on charges of aggravated murder following the death of a nightclub security worker in Calabria. Domenico and Umberto Orsino, Luxembourg residents vacationing in the region, were taken into custody by the Paola prosecutor's office on suspicion of killing Antonio Perrotta over what prosecutors described as trivial motives.
Perrotta, a 34-year-old father of four from Fuscaldo, was working security at the Castello club in Sangineto when he was assaulted in the early hours of Aug. 9. He was taken to a hospital in Cetraro before being transferred to the intensive care unit in Cosenza, where he died. Prosecutors have seized surveillance footage from the area.
The mayor of Fuscaldo has announced a civic day of mourning to coincide with Perrotta's funeral. Perrotta also worked as a laborer at the Italbacolor factory in his hometown.
