U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have agreed to travel to Kyiv for the first time, seeking to revive diplomatic efforts aimed at ending Russia's war in Ukraine. The decision followed a meeting between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office on July 28, which lasted more than an hour behind closed doors.

The planned visit, expected within the next two weeks, comes as the envoys maintain near-daily contact with Ukrainian and Russian officials. A possible trip to Russia in the coming weeks has also been indicated. American commentator Laura Loomer confirmed the Kyiv visit, saying a date would be finalized soon.

Discussions between Trump and Zelensky also covered licenses for producing Patriot missile interceptors and accelerating the diplomatic process. Zelensky had met Trump at the White House alongside separate talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was also in Washington.
