Three people were hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries after a small fire and subsequent crowd surge at the entrance of Ghana Party in the Park in Barnet, north London, on Saturday evening.
The incident occurred shortly after 18:00 BST when a fire near the gates of Copthall Playing Fields forced a temporary closure. When the gates reopened, a crowd surge trapped some festival-goers, prompting the dispatch of multiple emergency resources including two air ambulances. A total of 23 people received assistance from emergency services and event medical teams, with nine assessed by the London Ambulance Service.
Organisers ended the event on health and safety grounds and denied speculation about stabbings or fatalities. The annual festival, also known as ShattaFest, draws approximately 10,000 attendees and was headlined by Ghanaian artist Shatta Wale.
