Rossella Diaco, veteran voice of Rai Isoradio, dies at 65 in Rome

Rossella Diaco, a longtime broadcaster and host for Italy's public radio network Rai, died on Sunday morning in Rome following a brief illness. She was 65.

Her daughter Federica announced the passing on Diaco's Facebook page, where Diaco had posted on 27 July about her worsening health. Born in Toronto, Diaco joined Rai in 1983 and spent much of her career in international and traffic broadcasting, working for Rai International from 1998 to 2011 and later as a host at the CCISS traffic information centre. She had been a multimedia programmer at Isoradio for over 15 years.

A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday at 10:30 at the Sacri Cuori di Gesù e Maria parish in the La Storta district of Rome.
