Poste Italiane closed the first half of 2026 with record revenue of €6.8 billion, up roughly 6% year on year, as the state-backed postal and financial services group reported net profit of €1.2 billion, a 3.5% increase. Second-quarter results beat analyst expectations, with adjusted operating profit reaching €868 million, 3% above consensus, and second-quarter net profit of €594 million exceeding estimates by 4%.
Revenue growth was broad-based. Financial services revenue rose 4.4% to €3 billion, insurance revenue climbed 8.6% to €983 million, and Postepay services grew 7.3% to €860 million, while the mail, parcels and distribution segment reached €2 billion. Total group costs rose 4.1% to €5.5 billion under chief executive Matteo Del Fante.
Looking ahead, Poste agreed a term sheet with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti on postal savings distribution for 2027–2030 and will present an industrial plan for its integrated venture with TIM in the first quarter of 2027.
