Nordnet reported first-half operating profit of 1.19 billion Swedish kronor ($112 million) for the April–June period, as the online broker added 74,000 new customers in the quarter and surpassed 2.5 million clients across the Nordic region. Total operating income for the period reached 1.634 billion kronor, with diluted earnings per share at 3.80 kronor.
The Stockholm-based firm has expanded aggressively in Denmark, where it gained more than 100,000 customers over the past year to reach 677,400. The Danish unit alone posted an operating profit of 299 million kronor in the latest quarter, while the group-wide figure stood at roughly 1.2 billion kronor for the three-month period.
Nordnet is also preparing an expansion into Germany, signaling ambitions beyond its Nordic base. Despite the strong results, the company's shares dipped 1 percent in early trading on Thursday.
