Norwegian Air Shuttle posted a net loss of 916 million Norwegian crowns ($82.4 million) in the first half of 2026, reversing a profit of 175 million crowns a year earlier, as rising fuel expenses and a one-off charge dragged the budget carrier into the red.
The airline reported a second-quarter operating loss of 603 million crowns, compared with a 1.25 billion-crown profit in the same period of 2025, weighed down by a 733 million-crown one-off item and higher fuel costs. A Supreme Court ruling on emissions quotas and the timing of Easter also hit results.
Revenue for the quarter edged up to 10.4 billion crowns from 10.3 billion. First-half ticket revenue rose 2.6 percent to 14.5 billion crowns as the carrier flew 13 million passengers, up 3.2 percent year-on-year.
