Netflix reported a 13 percent rise in second-quarter revenue to $12.56 billion and net income of $3.40 billion, but the streaming giant's stock fell more than 8 percent in after-hours trading after its third-quarter earnings guidance missed consensus estimates.
Subscriber growth led in Latin America, Asia, and Europe, while the company narrowed its 2026 revenue forecast to between $51 billion and $51.4 billion. Earnings per share of 80 cents edged past Wall Street estimates, aided in part by a $2.8 billion contractual penalty received from Warner Bros. Discovery in February following a terminated acquisition.
Looking ahead, Netflix said it expects ad revenue to double to $3 billion this year. The company also announced it will publish viewership data only on an annual basis starting in 2027.
