A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of sending threatening communications to Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, the Metropolitan Police said on Wednesday.
Officers detained the suspect at a residential address in south London on 14 July, following a report filed on 8 May over an X post that read "I am going to shoot you in the head if you win," sent during local and mayoral elections. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
The arrest comes amid heightened security concerns for Reform UK figures. It follows the killing of party spokeswoman Ann Widdecombe, whose body was found at her Devon home on 9 July with serious injuries; counter-terrorism police are investigating that death.
