Fulvio Lucisano, one of Italy's most prolific film producers whose career spanned more than seven decades, died on Tuesday. He was 98.
His daughter Paola confirmed his death in a social media post. Born in Rome in 1928, Lucisano began his career at the Istituto Luce in the late 1940s before founding Italian International Film in 1958 and later the Lucisano Media Group. He produced hundreds of films including "Ricomincio da tre," launching Massimo Troisi's film career, as well as "Il grande cocomero" and "Notte prima degli esami." He served as president of ANICA, Italy's cinema industry association, from 1998 to 2001.
Lucisano collected five David di Donatello awards, four Nastri d'Argento and was named a Cavaliere del Lavoro by then-President Giorgio Napolitano in 2007.
