Houthi rebels claim drone attack on Saudi Aramco facility in Najran

Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed responsibility on Friday for a drone strike targeting a Saudi Aramco facility in the southwestern Saudi city of Najran, saying the operation hit its mark. The Iran-aligned group announced the attack late Friday, with a military source saying it was carried out in retaliation for Saudi warplanes violating Yemeni airspace over the northeastern part of Saada province.

No immediate confirmation was issued by Saudi authorities or Aramco regarding the alleged strike, and it remained unclear whether the drone reached its intended target.

The claim comes more than a week after a previous attack on Najran, when the Saudi-led coalition said 11 civilians, including seven Saudis, were wounded on August 6. The Houthis stated via their Saba news agency that Friday's operation was a direct response to ongoing Saudi aerial incursions into Yemeni territory.
