A flash flood swept through a southern Utah canyon on 17 July, killing five members of a single family who were camping at Sunglow Campground near Bicknell.
The victims were Provo fire captain Spencer Long, his wife Katrina Long, and their three sons, Reid, Thayne, and Gage. Bodies were recovered from the flood wash late on Friday and throughout Saturday. A daughter, Lydia, survived as she had not joined the outing.
Katrina Long was co-founder of Summit Medical Spa. A GoFundMe campaign established for the family had raised approximately $218,000 of a $250,000 goal by the weekend.
