French gendarmes discovered the bodies of five newborn babies hidden in cardboard boxes and plastic bags in the southern town of Orange, in the Vaucluse department.
The remains were found in the apartment of a couple living in Orange. The discovery came after a 32-year-old woman gave birth to a healthy baby on 27 July 2026, according to reports.
The Carpentras prosecutor's office has opened an investigation into the killing of minors. The prosecutor's office declined to issue an immediate public statement on the case.
