The body of a foreign woman, believed to be around 35 years old, was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition inside an apartment on Via Paisiello in Barriera di Milano, a district in northern Turin, during the night between July 20 and 21, 2026.
The alarm was raised after a friend who had not heard from her for some time grew concerned, compounded by reports of a strong odour from the flat. Officers from the mobile squad, forensics personnel, and patrol units responded to the scene under the coordination of the Turin prosecutor's office.
Investigators have not ruled out any hypothesis regarding the cause of death given the condition of the remains. An autopsy will determine the time and circumstances of death. Police have interviewed neighbours and acquaintances of the victim.
