FIFA President Gianni Infantino traveled more than 93,500 kilometers by private jet during the 2026 World Cup, completing the equivalent of more than two circuits of the globe and generating nearly 813 tonnes of CO₂ emissions, according to flight-tracking data analyzed by European media.
Infantino attended 43 matches and visited all 16 host stadiums, averaging more than one flight per day and spending roughly 115 hours in the air. His longest trip was a five-hour-44-minute flight from Miami to Seattle, while his shortest lasted just 28 minutes between Seattle and Vancouver. The tournament sparked a broader surge in private aviation, with aviation consultancy WingX forecasting an additional 73,200 flight movements linked to the event.
